On the evening of the opening a concert paying tribute to the icon included Fr. Stephen Meholick of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in San Anselmo, a Blagovest bell pealing and a presentation by St. John of San Franicsco Men’s Chorale. A lecture by Hieromonk Juvenal Herrin discussed the role that icons play in daily devotion.
