On March 22nd, 2014, Manresa Gallery hosted a special dinner at the beautiful Loyola House on Lone Mountain to show our appreciation for our long term patrons and supporters. Fr. James Blaettler, Director of Manresa Gallery, gave a presentation noting the gallery’s foundation and highlights from the gallery’s archive. Lynn Marie Kirby, a San Francisco artist with work currently on view in our exhibition Thresholds of Faith: Four Entries into the Beyond artist, gave a presentation detailing her long term relationship with Manresa Gallery. Kirby’s current installation, Truely Sisters showcases the work of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Sisters have been working in the community for over 40 years and have developed programs to include art and dance, social justice outreach, teachings of compassion, and education. Each month Lynn Marie Kirby hosts a Skype conversation with the Sisters inside Manresa Gallery offering the Sisters a platform to discuss their work.
