The Abstract Sublime

James Ochman’s abstract paintings work through the specific space of Manresa Gallery in Saint Ignatius Church. Influenced the first school of American Abstractionists such as Barnett Newman and Agnes Martin, Ochman’s work employs the physicality of the painting to reach beyond. He has created an installation that pays homage to the architecture and sanctity of Manresa Gallery’s four alcoves.
The exhibition is viewable through the glass doors seven days a week from 8am to 5pm.
