Ali Naschke-Messing: See-Through-Silence and Kathryn Barulich: Sit 100 Years

Two participatory projects, July – September, 2014:
Ali Naschke-Messing: See-Through-Silence

Artist Led Wednesday Afternoon Meditations
August 27th, September 3rd & September 24th

4:00 meet n’ greet // 4:30 start time // 5:15 departure
Join interdisciplinary artist Ali Naschke-Messing as she guides visitors toward a relaxing ½ hour meditation.
We will gather shoe-less on the comfortable rug with meditation pillows beneath Messing’s contemplative, cascading gold-leaf installation. Meditation is simply a practice of presence; it hones our capacity to allow all things to be naturally as they are. This can occur in any moment, in any environment. The installation is viewable 7 days a week, from 8am to 5pm

Kathryn Barulich: Sit100years
Presented by Manresa Gallery and located on USF’s East Lawn

Tweet Moments of Reflection @sit100years
An isolated chair has been placed under the giant pine tree on the lawn adjacent to Saint Ignatius parish. Visitors are invited to sit in the chair and tweet, allowing for a unique entryway into contemplation of the church’s 100-year presence. In addition, a live feed of tweets is projected on a monitor inside Manresa Gallery, within St. Ignatius Church.
